Spider-Man 2
Interior/Exterior Runined Pier. Wall and deck plan. Each of the bubbles on the floor indicates an individual drawing of that piece. Sections have arrows, and the bubbles marked "Datum" refer to the building my counterpart did above that deck.

Interior/Exterior Runined Pier. Reflected plan. This is smaller than the deck plan since we only had to finish the part of the deck that was sitting in the tank (we got down in the water to shoot).

Interior/Exterior Runined Pier. Sections. This is one of nine pages of sections. I also had a piling plan showing where in the tank each of these posts sat, but It's just a plan with a bunch of circles and dimensions.

Interior/Exterior Runined Pier. Derick detail. We had a derick in the set that had to stand up to stunts. By that time I had freed myself up enough that I could take that on.

Exterior Runined Pier. Matte layout. This was based on the working drawings of the whole set (we had a lot of sections and plans so it was fairly easy to lay this out). This was the basic drawing for the matte artists to make their plates from.

Spider-Man 2

A long time ago in an industry far, far away…There was Spider-Man 2. This is where it gets confusing, because there is more than one film by that name now. But in the days before reboots, our Spiderman 2 was the 2002 version, and our sets were epic. I worked on a number of sets for the film, but what I include here are some of my drawings for the derelict warehouse. The set was divided into two sections, the part that rose above the floor, and the part from the floor down that was submerged. I drew the short straw and got the submerged half. The set was built on Stage 15 of Sony Studios Where The Wizard of Oz and all of Esther Williams aquatic movies were filmed. The whole thing was built practically (the set involved too many camera setups and stunts for digital extensions). I also worked up a sketch of the exterior of that same warehouse, based on the working drawings my counterpart and I prepared. This was used as a base for our illustrators to work up our exterior matte paintings.
