“Incunabula”. Selection from the rule book. The main problem is that they are damned hard to read. Apparently that's ok, players will feel a sense of accomplishment just reading the rulebook. Executed in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Graphic Design

As I have mentioned in other parts of this portfolio; there was a time, shortly after the Earth’s crust cooled, when we had no Graphic Artists in the entertainment industry. Graphic production was the job of Set Designers or Art Directors in conjunction with studio sign shops. All the work was done by hand until Adobe Illustrator came out. Learning that program (and its sibling Photoshop) required both money and time nobody wanted to spend and it was not long until we had dedicated graphic artists on staff. Early on I hacked through the process of learning both Photoshop and Illustrator, thinking it would make me more employable. It did until a few years later when the Graphic Artist’s Local was founded. After that, the graphic work went to those who have a LOT more skill than I do in the subject. But by then I had signs and labels I had done on shows, some of which I include here for completeness as much as anything. Even as my graphic arts jobs have vanished in the entertainment industry, I have continued to design documents for private commissions and personal projects. I have included a sample of those as well.
